Supporting the development and equitable allocation of health services

Health services played a critical role in promoting better health outcomes for individuals directly or indirectly affected by the pandemic. These services provided access to or empowered individuals to obtain the resources they need to stay healthy and come in the form of telemedicine, decision support, remote monitoring, care coordination, food access etc. We worked with partners who strive to meet the physical and mental health and social needs of communities most impacted by COVID. It is our objective was to connect them with communities in need, organizations with whom they can collaborate, and potential sources of capital, if applicable.

Health Services: a critical need

Health services, often enabled by technology, played a key role in mitigating the individual and community level effects of the virus. Resources such as symptom trackers, mental health services, and information on how to prevent illness or take care of yourself at home are critically important to individuals’ ability to navigate the pandemic and seek appropriate care. We worked with health services, health tech, and digital health partners to make these and other resources affordable and available to underserved communities in order to improve the health outcomes of those most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Honda & Dynaflo Pumps: Filling The Gap For Critical Ventilator Components

Dynaflo, Inc. produces a sophisticated compressor that is an essential component in critical care medical ventilators.  Due to the pandemic, Dynaflo was asked to scale up production from roughly 300 per month to 10,000 per month.  Dynaflo was able to work with their supply chain to rapidly increase the supply of needed parts, but faced challenges in assembling compressors at scale. Stop the Spread paired them with Honda of America, given expertise in mass production and willingness to help. The partners are now on track to meet their 10,000 compressors a month goal by June. Together, Honda and DynafloPumps are ensuring that ventilators get off the assembly line and into hospitals on time.
