About Stop the Spread

We addressed the critical needs of the COVID-19 pandemic in four key ways:

Research – We followed the evolution of the pandemic closely and were uniquely positioned to understand how the private sector can best support our nation’s response and what needs philanthropy can uniquely fill.

Partnerships – We are plugged into the COVID-19 response ecosystem and broadened our network daily so that we were well positioned to actively assist innovators in increasing their reach and impact.

Investments – We were able to provide grant or equity capital to nonprofit and for-profit organizations with novel solutions providers that uniquely address the needs of underserved communities.

Hyperlocal support - We supported neighborhoods hit hardest by COVID-19 by working through community-based organizations to bring our network of partner solutions to the community, with a focus on addressing the needs of the historically underserved.

About

Stop the Spread

We address the critical needs of the COVID-19 pandemic in two key ways:

We help manufacturing companies access the knowledge and connections they need to ramp up production of medical equipment

We help promising COVID initiatives connect with organizations that can provide capital in the form of grants, loans, investments, and direct purchases

Investments – We are able to provide grant or equity capital to nonprofit and for-profit organizations with novel solutions providers that uniquely address the needs of underserved communities.

Hyperlocal support - We support neighborhoods hit hardest by COVID-19 by working through community-based organizations to bring our network of partner solutions to the community, with a focus on addressing the needs of the historically underserved.

Who we are

As an organization, a group of our CEOs wrote a Medium post that sparked a call to action and resulted in our op-ed in The New York Times that captured the imagination and commitment of more than 1,300 business leaders, all of whom have stepped forward to do their part.

Since founding in March 2020, we’ve watched a national effort emerge, as large and small companies answered the call to serve our nation.

In May 29, 2020, ImpactAssets and Stop the Spread joined forces to continue this work through the ImpactAssets Stop the Spread COVID Response Program. The Program harnessed the collective power of ImpactAssets’ leading impact investment and organizational capacity and Stop the Spread’s agile partnership model to respond to COVID-19.

What we stand for

SERVICE

We serve the American public

Our partner companies came together in service to the American public. Our partners are committed to innovating and mobilizing to get the right resources to where they are needed most—to COVID-19 victims, healthcare professionals, frontline workers and underserved communities.

PARTNERSHIP

We catalyze and connect the private sector and philanthropists to fill the gaps in government response

Our federal, state and local governments led the policy and regulatory response to this crisis on the front lines. Our role was to mobilize private and philanthropic actors to develop and deploy national and local solutions that helped our nation to recover faster and to address the needs of underserved communities and vulnerable populations.

SPEED TO ACTION

We move with urgency

During this crisis, each passing hour was critical. We prioritized making quick decisions so we could support people in need as fast as possible.

RESPONSIVENESS

We are ideally working ourselves out of a job

Stop the Spread came together to address an unprecedented public health crisis that continues to evolve. We committed to staying the course until the pandemic was suppressed.

FOCUS

We focus on where we are needed most

We recognize there were many urgent needs in the COVID-19 pandemic, and that it would take organizations in every sector to combat the global pandemic. We focused our efforts on the critical needs where our capabilities and expertise could have the greatest impact.
